Memorial Service For Rev. Dr. Imre Bertalan 9/6/2008

Rev. Dr. Imre Bertalan, father of Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Executive Director of the Bethlen Home, was called home by his maker on Thursday, July 10, 2008.

Dr. Bertalan was the Pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Washington, D.C. for over a quarter century. In addition, he was an active and respected leader of the American Hungarian public life. He was the President and Chairman of the American Hungarian Federation, and founding Board Member of the Hungarian American Coalition. He was a leader in the American Section of the World Alliance of Hungarians. In 2000 the Hungarian Government awarded him the “Magyar Koztarsasag Tisztikeresztje” for his life’s work on behalf of Hungarian causes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00am at the Wesley Theological Seminary Chapel.
