West Side Hungarian Reformed Church Welcomes Faithful & Welcoming Churches

On Friday, July 11 the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church in Cleveland, Ohio hosted a special dinner & evening devotion for those church leaders who participated in the conversation between the national leadership of the United Church of Christ and the Faithful & Welcoming Churches. Attached please find four pictures taken following this uplifting gathering in the Sanctuary of the host Congregation.

The large group is comprised by the guests and local church members. On the smaller group pictures are (from Right to Left): Rt. Rev. Louis Medgyesi – Rep. of the Calvin Synod, Rev. Bob Thompson – President of the FWC, Rt. Rev. Koloman K. Ludwig – Rep. of the Calvin Synod, Rev. Bryan Moore – Vice President of the FWC, Rev. Russell Kohrs – Secretary of the FWC, and Rev. Zoltan S. Kelemen – Pastor of the Hosting Congregation.

The local women`s group, the Lydia Ladies Guild prepared a wonderful dinner for the guests. A special tribute had been paid to the Hungarian Protestant Galley Slave Ministers & Teahcers in the Sanctuary by singing the “Lift Thy Head, O Zion Weeping”. Louis Medgyesi shared with us a Scripture Reading from John 15, and Koloman Karl Ludwig offered a prayer, then he also introduced the history of the Calvin Synod to the guests. The local Pastor introduced the Sanctuary`s Stain Glass Windows, and their historic message.
